A Tribute to Slim

On the 9th of September, we lost a good and faithful member of our family.  Our beagle, Slim, had been a much loved member of our family for over 13 years and he will be greatly missed.  He and Steve had hunted many a rabbit together in his long career as an excellent rabbit dog and after he was no longer able to hunt he became a treasured family pet.  I will miss him as a companion on my photo shoots because I could always count on him to be a willing subject anytime I needed to take pictures with a new lens or a new setting.  He was always right there with us anytime we were around.  His buddy, Jake, misses him as well.  He's just laying around looking forlorn and wondering why his pal is not here anymore.  But Slim had a good, long life and did not have to suffer any lingering pain or illness for which we are thankful.  It's always hard to lose a beloved pet but I'm glad to have had him for as long as we did.
